This Web site is under construction. The most important parts of it will not be posted for some time (early 2019?).
As a preview, here are a few of the legal tools that will be on the site when officially launches.
- Admissibility of character evidence. Character can be shown by reputation, extrinsic evidence, or may be the subject of cross-examination.
Identify the specific provision of the Federal Rules of Evidence that applies by answering a few simple questions.
- Lawful interrogation. Different rules apply depending on whether the suspect has been formally charged, is in custody, has invoked a constitutional right, etc. Answering a few short questions will determine whether interrogation is permitted by federal law.
- Retroactive effect of new constitutional rules on federal convictions. New constitutional rules apply on direct review, but may or may not apply on collateral review because of 28 U.S.C. § 2255 and the Teague rule. This Q&A spots the issues.
